Shattered Bonds - Lucky #13
Series: Jane Yellowrock #13

Jane Yellowrock must dig deep and find strength within herself if she is to survive in the latest novel in this New York Times bestselling series.
Jane Yellowrock is a shapeshifting skinwalker, and vampire killer-for-hire, but her last battle with an ancient arcane enemy has brought her low. She seeks retreat in the Appalachian Mountains to grieve the loss of her friends, and to heal--or to die--from the disease brought on by her magic.
But malevolent elements in the paranormal community still seek to destroy Jane, and the younger Son of Darkness stalks her, even into the safety of the hills. With nowhere to run and her body failing, the rogue-vampire hunter and her inner Beast must discover a way to defeat this new threat, and find a form that gives her a chance to fight another day.

After the ending of the last book, Dark Queen, I wasn't quite sure where Shattered Bonds would take us. Jane's mysterious illness on top of her newly crowned title left a lot of loose ends that begged to be tied. Shattered Bonds did just that. Jane's life seemed viciously in peril with her illness progressing quickly and when the world comes literally crashing down around her, Jane is in a make or break it situation. The heartbreak of the reality of her future is clear as day on Bruiser's eyes as he tries to hold together their relationship. His pain jumps off the page and directly hits you dead in the heart. Their journey is filled with twists and turns, but the shock ending... well, I can't tell you about that now can I. You'll just have to read it for yourself.
