Book Review Tuesday: Mercy by Sara Cate
Series: Salacious Players Club #4
I don’t want to hurt him—I just want to punish him.
It’s bad enough being the only female owner of the Salacious Players’ Club, but I’m also the only one without a kink, or so I thought.
Imagine my surprise when the kink quiz suggests that I’m not so vanilla after all.
In fact, I’m a lot more like Emerson Grant than I thought.
Just one problem—I have no idea how to be a Domme.
That is, until the app matches me with someone willing to help me learn.
He’s too young for me.
Too stubborn. Too good looking.
And, oh yeah, my friend’s son.
Beau Grant is a brat. I’d hate that about him if I didn’t love punishing him so much.
Underneath all of that attitude is a man who is misunderstood, selfless, and in need of direction.
But if he wants mercy, he has to earn it.
There are a million reasons why I should stay away, but I’m tired of doing what everyone thinks I should do.
I finally know what I want, and I’m ready to take what’s mine.

This series has been one of my latest binge reads over the past week. While the first three books were about the other Salacious Players Club owners, Mercy is the book I've been most looking forward to reading. Honestly, this book brings the first book full circle.
Beau's spurning by his ex and now... stepmother left something broken inside of him. A need he can't quite seem to satisfy on his own.
Maggie is a domme, who doesn't want to accept her results from the very quiz and app she helped develop.
While I don't want to give to much of the story away, because read it!, this book was a bit different from the rest. Yes, the spice is very much still there, but there's another element to the story that was lacking in the others. Finding who you truly are in this world. Most of the other characters knew who they were and what they liked. Maggie and Beau either don't want to admit or accept their destinies or refuse to acknowledge what they both truly need. This book is more about discovering who you really are versus this is my thing and I'll just keep doing it.
To be honest, this may be my favorite book in the entire series. It goes to show that even though you think you know yourself, you may not be acknowledging a part of you that you've been tamping down and trying to hide.
