Tuesday Reviews: Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton
How do you adequately describe the book that brought back your love of reading? I've struggled for the past several years with finding books that not only keep my attention, but draw me into the story where I can't put it down. I'd just about given up all hope until I stumbled across a Tiktok Video for this book talking about all the trigger warnings and how dark and disturbing the story was..
If y'all know me, they had me at trigger warnings. I like my romance like I like my coffee. The darker, the better.
So this good little preacher's wife (Yeah... I know) dove into this amazing dark, twisted, and fucking sexy AF story while ironically sitting at a church conference meeting. What I found was a book that not only toyed so many morality lines in the sand, and honestly, made me question a few about myself as well. The hand scene, IYKYK. I could reiterate what all of the other reviews mention like the off the charts romance, the fact that Zade not only has a permanent spot in my heart, but on my arm since I have his company logo tattooed there now (That was fun trying to explain the book to my tattoo artist. Pretty sure he's going to stop asking me about the books I read after that question LOL). Instead of gushing about the book, the plot line, the crazy AF shit that goes down between Addie and Zade, I simply just want to say thank you to H.D. Carlton for giving my reading mojo back.
