Re-Read: Affliction by River Savage
After a long drought of books holding my
attention, I decided to go back through the favorites archive and re-read. The
first book I pulled out again was Affliction by River Savage. It’s been years
since I’ve read this story, but it still remains one of my favorite biker
romance novels. It is the kind of book that you cannot put down until the last
page. The H, Sylas, is as loveable as he is frustrating. His story is such a dark and unrelenting tale
of heartbreak. It’s been said that it’s
always the quiet ones you have to watch for and our dear quietly brooding Sy is
no different. His past is one of the saddest character backstories I have read
in quite some time. You feel ever twinge of heartbreak and pain as Sy endures. Until
Holly comes into the picture. She makes him better, and dare say, he gives back
to her as much as he takes. Holly has been thrust into this deep dark world and
Sy is relentless at trying to protect her and breathe life back into her. It is
truly the literary embodiment of the perfect story.
